Get your body moving

Looking for at-home workouts? Now that you find yourself working from home, you’re probably a lot less active than normal.

Let’s face it, your biggest move of the day might be from your bed to your “home office” (which may be the kitchen table or the couch).

Be sure to check out my tips for working from home and 20 productive ways to pass the WFH day.

Staying active is not only good for your physical well being but your mental health as well. Even something as simple as a walk outside (great way to break up your work-from-home day) or after work can have an impact on your mood and productivity.

So long as you practice safe habits and distances from others, it’s an ideal time for a walk in the woods, a hike on a local trail, or even a tour around your neighborhood.

Running outside is also great (and on my list once the weather cooperates), but I am loving what some local studios and gyms are doing to help us during this time unprecedented time. Check it out.

Next Step Performance

Get fit with Ivan!

Before I had Bo, I was an NSP regular (seriously, I was slaying workouts through month 8 – basically until I couldn’t breathe anymore), and I’ve been eager to get back to him.

Those who love Next Step Performance know that Ivan brings a killer workout every time.

You can bring that workout into the home by simply heading to NSP’s YouTube channel. There you will find workouts from as short as 6 minutes (mobility) to just over 30 min.

I tried this yesterday after some Cosmic Kids Yoga and literally had a 36-lb toddler on top of me (“I wrestle you mommy!”), but it felt good to do something. I’ll be signing back on soon.

Keep an eye on NSP’s Instagram page for when the next workout goes live.

Om My Yoga

Those looking for mindfulness in this chaotic time have a virtual home with Om My Yoga.

In March, they launched Om My Yoga Online to keep their daily yoga classes going. Subscriptions get you access to all online classes and is $49 a month.

Om My Yoga has a few free videos that were posted in March if you’re looking for quick free classes.

Thrive Fit Co.

Work out from Instagram or Zoom!

Thrive Fit Co. took their burn-out workout classes to Instagram and now Zoom so the “Thrive Tribe” and others wouldn’t miss a beat.

On Instagram they have shortened versions of their full classes, which have now all moved to Zoom.

You can get a virtual month membership for just $30 which gets you into up to three classes a day. During the week they at least have classes at 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. with a 6 a.m. on occasion as well.
